ABOUT THE AUTHOR

My name is Liam Easley, and I am studying at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa where I am majoring in Journalism and Communication and minoring in creative writing. I am currently the Arts and Entertainment section editor for my college newspaper, The Trumpet. I ran my own blog from 2016-2018 called The Metal Void where I reviewed extreme music. This was the start of my journalistic career, and after 2018 I joined the staff of Metal Temple, a larger online publication for extreme music reviews. Here I became an editor as well as a writer.

At the start of 2020, I voluntarily stepped down from my editing position at Metal Temple in order to pursue several different interests, including the coverage of the local metal and hardcore scene of Iowa’s Cedar Valley. I have been a part of the local hardcore and metal shows in the Cedar Valley, and I have familiarized myself with the diverse options the scene has to offer.
